About the Counselor

Brittney Tharpe is the school counselor, born and raised in Roberta, GA. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2012 and her Master’s of Science in Education degree with a concentration in School Counselor Education in 2016, both from THE Fort Valley State University, located in Fort Valley, GA. She graduated with her Educational Specialist degree with a concentration in School Counselor Education from Fort Valley State University in 2019. She has been in education for 7 years, 2 of those years being a Kindergarten Paraprofessional at the Crawford County Eagle’s Nest, and the other 5 years as a Certified Professional School Counselor at Crawford County Elementary School. She is an active member of the American School Counselor Association and the Georgia School Counselor Association. Her mission as the school counselor is to provide each student at Crawford County Elementary School with social/emotional, academic, and college/career development and support to become successful members of the community. Along with her counseling duties, she also serves as the school's 504 Coordinator, McKinney-Vento liaison, and Hospital Homebound contact person.
